Your out-of-pocket cost

A $125 participation fee, offset by a $125 tax-credit donation (within the $200 single or $400 married-filing-jointly limit), can bring your out-of-pocket cost to $0. See the tax-credit details below.

Tax Credit Donations

Support athletics with your tax credit.

Arizona lets taxpayers redirect part of what they already owe the state to a public school's extracurricular activities, and get it back dollar-for-dollar as a state tax credit. Those dollars help fund Highland Prep West athletics and can offset the participation fees above.

What is the Arizona tax credit?

It is a dollar-for-dollar credit against your Arizona state income tax for a donation you make to a public school's extracurricular activities, including athletics. You are redirecting tax you already owe, not making an extra payment.

How much can I contribute?

Up to $200 if you file single, or $400 if you are married filing jointly, each tax year. Confirm the current-year limits when you file.

Do I need a student at the school?

No. Any Arizona taxpayer can contribute to Highland Prep West, whether or not they have a child enrolled.

How does it help our athletic program?

Donations support extracurricular costs like officials, equipment, uniforms, and team travel, and can be applied toward a student-athlete's participation fee.

How do I claim it?

Make your donation by the state tax-filing deadline, keep your receipt, and claim the credit on your Arizona return using Form 322.
