Hello, HPW community! My name is Karissa Ham, and I am excited to join the team as your Assistant Principal. I hold a Master’s in Education from Grand Canyon University. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology, which deepens my understanding of how students learn and how we can better support their educational journey.
For the past nine years, I have been a high school science teacher, teaching in both Illinois and Arizona. Throughout my career, I have cherished the opportunity to connect with students, families, and staff. I believe that building strong relationships is key to a successful educational experience. My goal is to foster a supportive and enriching environment where everyone can thrive.
On a personal note, my husband and I are the proud parents of three wonderful children: Jazilyn, Travin and Indeanna. Our family wouldn’t be complete without our two dogs and our cat. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family, watching my kid’s sporting events, and reading.
I am looking forward to this new chapter at HPW and to working together to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students. Let’s make this a great year!
