Hello, my name is Nelson Rafael Rodríguez López, and I teach Spanish at Highland Prep West. I have more than 25 years of teaching experience, including my work as a Mathematics and Physics professor at the university level, as well as over 8 years teaching in U.S. high schools, where I have taught Spanish, ESL, and Mathematics.
I am a graduate of the American College of Education (Columbus, Ohio), where I earned a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in English Teaching Learners, and I also hold a master’s degree in mathematics from Venezuela. My teaching approach is based on inclusive methodologies, the development of communicative competence, and the integration of academic and language skills, while fostering a respectful, structured, and motivating learning environment.
I am enthusiastic about supporting my students throughout their learning journey and helping them develop confidence, critical thinking, and strong academic skills that will contribute to their success inside and outside the classroom.
